Aaniin Jelly Bean! (What's up?)

Life has been a journey lately.  I'm moving towards healing and learning to trust God more.  Pray for me that I will turn to God in the hard times.  I'm written a few songs and poems lately to express myself which has also been healing.  

Be Filled Inside

You have to be filled from the inside out.
External things will never satisfy your soul.
Daughter, take a break.
Step beyond your own perceptions.

Lord turn us from darkness to light.
Fill us Holy Spirit with your presence.
Bring us new life!
We need fresh anointing in our souls!

Put your hope in the eternal God.
Don't trust in earthly love.
Only the God of love can fill you.
He will heal your wounded soul,
making you whole-- when you turn to him.  


Hands of Healing

Your hands to hold 
reach out and touch me,
brushing hair from my eyes,
warmth on my cheek.

There are hands full of color and clay
to paint and create.
Mothering hands gently caress
the delicate face of a baby.

Hands make bread,
rhythmically kneading the dough.
Rough hands from working 
strong, but gently hold tight.

Giving high fives and waves goodbye,
what a world it would be without hands!
Thank God for hands of love and healing.  


Refining...

God please take these broken pieces
and make a mosaic with light shining through.
Make beauty from these ashes,
diamonds out of coal dust.

The pressure and heat are to refine you.
You are molded through these challenges.
Becoming, you will be pure as gold,
a sparkling gem for His glory.

You are pruned and shaped
to grow like a beautiful rose garden.
With love and tender care the fruit will bloom.
His love showers you like rain.

So drink in his love.
Catch the raindrops and bask in the sunlight.
True beauty comes from this
filling with love and peace from the inside.

Becoming New...

Good evening y'all, It has been a long day, but it has gone by fast.  Sort of ironic.  I'm sitting at home trying to get some rest from this cold that's clinging to me like a crawfish...??  I know I've been at work too long when I start sounding out words in my head that I see--like the word, Th-i-n-k-ing.  Or I start saying the words that way to adults when they ask me a question. This 2016-17 school year I am a LITERACY TUTOR in AmeriCorps.  It sounds kind of fancy when you put it that way.  I spend my days working one-on-one with about 16 different students on various reading interventions.  We work on short reading passages or blending together small words.  This also includes a lot of paperwork, data entry, prep work, bribing and coaxing via small toys, candy, and cracker items.  It should involve a lot more praise than scolding, more high-fives than head-shaking, and you get the picture.  The work is often rewarding, but also where I want to bang my head agai

Hi everybody!

Hello everybody! I've never had a blog before.   I have Facebook though.  I don't really know what to do.  If other people can comment on here feel free to ask me about my life  : )   Oh, apparently you guys can comment so that's good.              So this is Jasmine Fairbanks and I am at the Teen Mania Ministry's Honor Academy in Garden Valley, Texas which a Christian leadership school/ministry internship, basically, yet it's a lot more.  It's sort of like being on a mission trip because we are working toward spreading the gospel, but we stay in one place and reach people through the phones, etc.  I call for the Minneapolis Acquire the Fire youth conference.  Our event is on Feb. 4th & 5th, which is in like 2 weeks!  I'm excited, I get to go and help!  We'll help set up the event and with registration, etc.  This weekend is also the Houston Acquire the Fire, which I will get to attend.  This will be the first full Acquire the Fire that I've
